Summer Alps Bus Link, Hotham - Oct 6, 2010

The Summer Alps Bus started straight after the end to the Official Ski Season at Hotham finished on Monday the 5th October. This public bus is a great asset for the area and a much needed link from Gippsland to the North East. The bus will continue to run 3 times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and continue onto the 31st December 2010
It leaves Omeo at 8.30am, getting to Hotham at 9.30am and then arriving in Bright at 10.45am. The bus stays in Bright for a few hours so you can do some much needed shopping.
Coming back from Bright, the bus departs at 1.20pm, at Hotham at 2.35pm and then gets back to Omeo at 3.20pm. Stops along the way include Cobungra, Dinner Plain, Harrietville and Freeburgh.

Thredbo has a long history of providing a quality calendar of musical events during the summer months and this summer will be no different - we'll bring you all the line-ups and more information as they come to hand, but in the meantime here's our top list of events you shouldn't miss:

SkyDive OZ to Thrill in Jindabyne - Oct 1, 2010

This October long weekend Jindabyne will play host to SkyDive OZ.  Thrill seekers can sign up to take a tadem jump over the beautiful Jindabyne Lake.  And while they're up there, take in the spectacular views of the Kosciuszko National Park and surrounds.  Local Snow FM radio identity Nikki will be taking the leap, we wish her the best of luck, and from the sounds of things she's going to need it to beat those nerves!

The team from SkyDive OZ are off to the South Coast in November so be sure to check them out!

Mt Buller Gearing Up - Sep 25, 2010

Mt Buller is gearing up for what is set to be an incredible summer season, with a huge events calendar and a range of activities for all interests.

To kick off the start to summer, Mt Buller will host several huge motoring events. On November 5-7, the Resort will welcome hundreds of motor racing enthusiasts for the inaugural Targa High Country event. Then on December 10-12, thousands of Harley Davidson owners will descend on Mt Buller for the annual Harley Owner's Group rally.

Other events planned for summer include several Women's Mountain Bike Clinics, Kids' Weekend, Bike Buller MTB Festival, Picnic in the Park, Easter Celebrations and much more, we'll keep you posted.

Snowy Ride Just Keeps Getting Bigger - Aug 25, 2010

Motorcyclists from all over the country visit the Snowy Mountains to raise money for the Children's Cancer Institute of Australia.
The Snowy Ride is a motorcycle event run annually in the Alpine Region of NSW with the aim of including motorcycle riders and enthusiasts from all over Australia to raise money for Childhood Cancer Research. It is also an opportunity for riders, friends and family to enjoy a weekend away and to ride some of Australia’s most interesting and picturesque roads. Visit snowyride.org.au  for more info.
